Shamar 10, & Summer Marie 8
Melissa Charnee Patrick, 27 years old; a native of Hempstead, LI is definetly a description of Ymm. (let me tell you why) Melissa, a fun, happy laid-back social person but so much more to me. At the age of 17, she became a mother figure to her little brother Shamar now 10 years old by taking on the role of responsiblity for him. She knew of the path of struggles and strain it could have but she followed her heart and raised a wonderful little boy. Not alot of people would have done what she did and that is why I commend her. Melissa is a very dedicated young woman who now a mother herself to Summer Marie, 8 has graduated from school to be certified in the medical field. She is one of the most hands-on moms I know. She also has the talent of creating gift baskets and event favors which I like to call "Gifts by Mel". :) She has the talent, drive and ambition to be successful in her choices on the path of parenting and careers. Melissa to me is a complete description of a Ymm! She is not just any Ymm, she is also a very good friend of mine. After 9 years of laughter, tears, ups/downs, I still have lots of love for this woman. Ymm thanks her for the opportuntity to share this story.
