I am from Brooklyn, NY but I was raised in Queens and I now reside is Freeport, Long Island.

I had my first daughter when I was 17 yrs old. At that time i had no idea what life had to offer me. I was young and in love and thought I knew everything. I was a Junior in high school with 9 credits left to graduate. I can not tell you how dumb it was for me not to just go to school and get my diploma. I made excuses on why I couldn't go to school and I thought making money was more important. I worked job after job; some making as much as 60,000 yr never taking the time to think about how important it was to finish school. I didn't even have a GED. School to me was secondary. I really thought I didn't need to go. I started to work at a law office that is where I met my fiance. We dated for about 2 year then I got pregnant with my second daughter. My daughter was 4 months old when I found out I was pregnant with my son. At that point I took the time to see that I had 3 kids and no education. My life needed change. I made the decision to go get my GED. With my newborn son came a house and a car so Idid not have the time to go to college. Again I made excuses not to go to school and 2 1/2 years later something great happened and I lost my job. Most people would think that is a bad thing, but I knew it ws a gift sent from God. It gave me the ability to go back to school. I am attending Queensborough Community College now. I have a 3.9 average and I will be graduating in January of 2011 where I will then go on to SUNY Old Westbury in secondary education mathematics program. I had to sit back and see that education IS more important then anything else in the world. It is one of the not- to- many things that people can take from you .

My aspiring occupation is a high school Math Teacher

Quotes "He who opens a school door, closes a prison."; " spare the rod, spoil the child."

Hobbies are puzzles. Interest is anything my kids like to do.

Parental Advice: Don't treat your kids like that have done something wrong before they do. Give them a chance to show you they can do right. But if they messup. Make sure they understand you mean business. We didn't have a lot of money, so I didn't always have what the other kids had, but it taught me that material things don't make you; you make them! I don't think name brand things are important. I make my self the most important priority. It also taught me that my kids should not have everything handed to them so they will learn to value things and understand theyhave to work hard for what they want in life.

Although I do not consider my self a young mom I am in motion. I am getting my education so i can become a teacher. I want to show young women that there should be nothing in the world to stop you from your goals.
